Cameron...the Model!
We were shopping in JC Penny. Cameron kept asking to get out and take a picture with the mannequins. I finally entertained him. What he did was hysterical!! He casually (like he does this all the time) stepped up on the box they were on and posed exactly like they were standing. He popped his knee and everything. The look on his face was as if he was staring off in the distance...like a catwalk model. It was so funny. I seriously have no idea where he learned this. Really made me wonder who my kid has been shopping with. LOL.

Music Class
We wanted to get Cameron involved in some activities that would get him out with other kids. We found Music with Mar. It was great because kids of all ages could go...so it was easy for Haley to take both of them. It's a great class with lots of stories, songs & dancing. They are going every Thursday. They love it!

Valentines Day
For Valentines Day they each got a little basket of goodies. Daddy found annoying dogs that play songs and dance. Of course they each got one. It was a huge hit!! Cameron's was far more mellow. They kept turning both on at the same time and dancing like crazy...over and over and over!

Cameron - Riding his Bike
He's doing it on his own!! I realized the only video I had was of him getting help. We've been practicing...though for a while it was like pulling teeth. Once he started to get the hang of it, he willingly would jump on. I think he likes the fact that he can ride down to the stop sign and come back. We're still having trouble building his confidence to turn around while he rides on his own. It will be a while before we can really take a ride anywhere together. He still thinks he isn't good enough to go through the neighborhood while we walk with him.
I was trying to teach him to turn around. He rode down the sidewalk a couple of houses on his own. I told him to try going down and turn around and come back. He got down and started hollering at me to come and help him. I told him to keep going and turn around like we had practiced. He started getting off the bike and rips his helmet off screaming at me, "Mom...I am just a kid...You cannot expect me to turn around all by myself...I'm done". It was quite funny!! Except that he walked away from his bike and refused to get back on. I had to push it back to the house. LOL.

January 2013
Pictures of Melia and Cameron actually being nice to each other. Still happens...but they are definitely getting to be fewer and fewer. Between Cameron's instigating and Melia's crabbiness, they drive each other crazy. When Cameron is annoyed and wants her away he will say "Mom, will you come and get your daughter". LOL.
He loves to play tag. Contstantly looking for someone to run around the house with. It turns out to be a pretty good work out.
Papa Rick and Lisa came to visit us. We went to play mini golf. We had been dying to check out Winter Summerland at Disney (Santa themed). Papa Rick was giving him lessons. They even bought him his first real putter...and took him Pirate golfing before they left.
Awwww...so loving.
Other things that happened in January. We have been reading Secret Garden. It certainly prompted us to have some pretty deep conversations about death. No one dies, but there is a boy in the book that is sick and they talk about him as if he is dying. Cameron wanted me to explain what happens when people die. Then he wanted me to explain heaven. The wheels were definitely turning. He started asking who I knew that had died, if it was sad...and of course then wanted to know whether or not I was going to die or if he was going to die. By that point he was teary eyed. Scared himself. I think it ended on a pretty good note. He has talked about it several times since and seems be ok with it now. The bonus, I worked in the fact he needs to eat his veggies to take care of his body so he can live longer. Haha.
Mommy & Cameron had a special day at Magic Kingdom...just the 2 of us. It was a perfect day! Lines were pretty short and the park was not very busy. We got to spend time talking about the movies that some of the rides are based on that he has never seen (like Peter Pan and Little Mermaid). We definitely need to get this kid up to speed on the Disney movies. We left the park with a blue mustache from his candy.
We also have a new staple on TV. Cameron and Melia have discovered America's Funniest Home Videos. Every night at 7 PM he begs to turn it on. He will giggle away and just loves watching it. Who knew all these years later it would still be on...or that it would be something we'd have to watch all the time.
Then finally a wagon picture. They do love going for a ride...or being pulled down the driveway really fast.

Animal Kingdom - First Time
We took the kids to Animal Kingdom for the first time. The biggest hit was the dinosaur play area. Lots of slides and things to climb on. Plus the area where you can "dig" for bones.
According to Cameron, the worst part of the day would be riding on one of the dinsoaur rides. We thought it was just like riding back in time...see a few dinsosaurs...easy stuff. Well as soon as we got in line I had a feeling it was going to be far more intense. He wasn't so sure. It ended up being pretty rough and loud! I had been trying to prep him for it before we got on that it was all pretend and might be loud. We were on a safari type jeep going back in time to find a dinosaur and bring him back...and you had to find him before the comet hit the earth and the dinosaurs die. Trex tries to get us and you can feel his breath on your face...then you just barely get out on time. They take a photo of you on the ride. We saw ours at the end and all Cameron could say (with a completely straight face) was, "Mom, that is NOT my happy face". LOL. He will never go on that one again.
Other highlights of the day were the train ride, the petting zoo, and the safari ride.
There are a handful of rides. We rode the flying dinosaur ride (basically the dinosaur version of Dumbo). Of course we had to play some games. Cameron beat Daddy and won a turtle.

New Years Eve Party!
This year Cameron and I had our own NYE party! David had a big project at work that he was trying to wrap up so he was working almost the entire night. I had the whole thing planned. One activity every hour to keep him interested...and awake.
6:00 PM - We kicked off the night after dinner. The first activity was a movie theater in the living room! The kids had tickets and money to buy snacks. Cameron was excited because he got candy and we had pop! The movie was The Smurfs.
8:00 PM - After the movie, Melia went to bed. Cameron and I made and decorated our own noise makers to use at midnight.
9:00 PM - We attacked Daddy and had a good (and messy) silly string fight. Poor Cameron still can't push the button down to make the can work so he ends up being the one with the most on him. He doesn't seem to mind though.
10:00 PM - We used his new cake pop maker! He did all the decorating on his own.
11:00 PM - Sparklers & Poppers! And it was such a nice night.
11:30 PM - Cameron was starting to get tired so we did our last activity. Our midnight toast...with sparkling grape juice. Cameron didn't want to participate because they were the glasses he wasn't allowed to drink out of!
After our toast, Cameron decided to sit on the couch and watch the last little bit of the NYE show. Of course at about 5 minutes to midnight he started to fall asleep. We forced him awake to count down the ball drop and use our noise makers! Luckily Melia slept right through it. Cameron was ready for bed at that point! The next morning he even told me he dreamed about the ball dropping...but it was a different color. Believe it or not, he still got up at 8 the next morning!!
