ABC's and 123's

One of Cameron's favorite shows is still Dora. He loves to count with her. In one of the episodes on his video she counts to 100. He is right there counting along the entire way...always jumping when the counting begins.



Here he is singing his favorite part of the ABC song. He sings this over and over. At first it took us time to figure out what he was saying "know my know my ABC's". He can sing the entire song. He just chooses not to when the video camera is running.

Cameron does like singing. I didn't realize he was learning "Row Row Row Your Boat" until he started singing it. Then we got some of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star...that is until he got distracted by my bubble screen saver.

Cameron got a new baby doll! We were in Target a few days ago and I couldn't pull him away from it. It's a motion sensored doll that plays peek a boo. I'm not sure David thought it was a good idea, but I couldn't resist. He loves it. Although you can see at the end of the video he's a little baby...the baby doll barely touches him and he is so wounded! When he gets over that she moves and scares him.



Then just a few photos from play time. He loves his little stool and tries to sit at it like a picnic table. I think we need to get him a picnic table to eat at. As you can see he also needs some play food. He likes to serve his letter puzzle pieces on coasters.

Big Boy Bed!

This weekend we bought Cameron a toddler bed. He was so excited when we were setting it up...kept trying to get on it before it was completely put together. Overall he has transitioned pretty well. It's been comical though.





Saturday Night - I put him in bed, said our normal good nights, and closed the door. I had the monitor on so I could hear him and stood outside the door. After a few minutes I thought I heard him in his closet. I gave it another minute and then went in. He was sitting on the floor in his closet playing with some clothes. I told him it was time for bed and pointed him back that direction. He wasn't too happy.


When I left I stood outside the door again to listen. After a few minutes it was still silent so I went back in. He was standing in the middle of the bedroom and looked like a deer in headlights. Again, put him back in bed and explained he had to stay there. Stood outside the door a couple more minutes. Went back in and this time he heard the door. Before I could get it completely open he was making a run for the bed to try and lay down before I saw him. It was really funny! Tucked him back in. This time he actually stayed in bed and slept all night.


Saturday morning we heard him get up and go out into the loft. He never came into our room so I got up to see what he was doing. He apparently decided he was going somewhere because he was sitting on the floor trying to put his shoes on until he saw me.


Sunday - He took his first nap in the bed. Not much of a fight. He really didn't want to go to bed so was crying (as usual). Only got out of bed once. He actually opened his bedroom door like he was coming out and was a little surprised to see me there. After putting him back in bed he fell asleep. The funny part was when he woke up from his nap he was knocking on his bedroom door to ask if he could come out.


Sunday night he only got out of bed one time as well. The fun came during the night. He actually fell out of bed 3 times! The first time he was on the floor on all fours crying. The second time he was standing up. David went in the third time and he had just laid there like he was going back to sleep. Each time you could tell he was so exhausted he was practically sleeping while crying for us. Hopefully he figures it out soon.


Monday - Today we bought him a Toy Story bedding set, which he was excited about. Similar day though with sleeping. He didn't want to take a nap, but actually stayed in bed and went to sleep. Came out on his own when he woke up. Tonight he got up once...again was sitting in his closet playing. I put him back to bed...though he really didn't want to go.


After a little while I heard him start crying. I went in to find him sitting on his bed. He immediately stopped crying when I came in. I laid him back down and started to leave the room. He says "Mom...reindeer night night". So I went back to say good night to Reindeer, Duncan & Teddy Bear...then Cameron. Our normal ritual. He started blowing kisses so I did the same. Then he waved to me and said "Bye Mom". Too cute! I heard him talking for a while, but he eventually went to bed.


So far a success! Let's hope it continues.

Visiting Nana!

We planned a trip to visit Nana and it was full of surprises. Grandma Beth, Aunt Lynn, Olivia, Ava, and Grandma Barb all made the trip too. Nana had no idea any of us were coming. Grandma Barb even surprised Aunt Diane by showing up. Grandma Barb had no idea Cameron and I were coming...so there were lots of secrets we were all trying to keep.

Cameron did great on the plane, though at times was a bit restless. He's now at the age where he really gets the concept of being on an airplane (and loves them) so during take off & landing he was glued to the window watching. Our flight was a little delayed leaving so we didn't get in until midnight. Mom & Aunt Diane had to make an excuse they were running to the store at 11:30 PM so they could come pick us up.

Cameron definitely played shy for a while. He wasn't sure what to think of the girls. We all had a slumber party at Nana's.

Ava thought Cameron (or Cay-Cay as she calls him) was a baby. She was trying to feed him breakfast.

Cameron was surprised with some early birthday presents. He got lots of clothes, some dinosaurs, a piggy bank that counts your money (that was a hit), and other toys.

Cameron LOVED Ava's shoes! It all started because Ava walked outside and Lynn grabbed Cameron's shoes since they were right there. Ava thought it was great she was wearing Cay-Cay's shoes...so Cameron put on Ava's. After that he kept taking off his own shoes and trying to put hers on. Of course they had pretty colored flowers all over them.

We played outside a little bit (until the bugs ate us alive). They look like a fun bunch huh. :-)

Best buddies! They had their moments of not sharing, but overall they had a great time playing together.

It was Aunt Diane's birthday while we were there so had cake & ice cream.

Uncle Chris & Aunt Rhonda were also there the last couple of days.

Lynn and I thought it would be great to take the kids to have pictures done together. They aren't together often and we found a place that prints them same day. It was quite the ordeal!! Cameron cried the entire time. Ava was completely defiant and would not do anything she was told to do. We were so frustrated, but when they pulled up the final picture we just laughed hysterically...it was a completely captured each of their personalities for the day.

The highlight of the picture trip for them was playing with the blocks. Even Aunt Diane joined in.
