Sled riding at Mount Charleston

We went up to Mount Charleston to go for a sleigh ride and then sled riding. The sleigh ride was a little over rated. Luckily we had a groupon so it wasn't so bad. We had so much fun sledding though that it was definitely worth the trip up!

We went with Monica, Michael & Ava. We were expecting real snow and cold weather so we all went layered up. Once we got there it really wasn't very cold! Only the kids wore winter coats. Poor Melia only had her big thick snow suit, which was probably a bit much.

Regardless, we all had such a great time.

Cameron's New Room!

We finally got Cameron's new room decorated. It's not 100%, but it's a good start. He loves outer space so we used this for the theme. For Christmas he got glow in the dark stars and planets. And his new rocket ship fits perfectly! We painted his letters blue to add some color and got some decal stickers for the walls.

When I was done putting up his stars he was so excited! He gave me a big hug and said "thanks for being so nice to me mom!". Then when I turned out all the lights and showed him how they glow he said "wow - just like outer space!". He loves his new room!!

Christmas & New Years 2011

Christmas Eve we put Cameron & Melia's santa bags out with the cookies Cameron made for Santa.

That night we caught Santa in a picture just as he was arriving to drop off presents for Cameron & Melia! The video that follows is us showing Cameron the picture we found on our computer.

These are all the presents that were left by Santa...and from everyone else. Can we say spoiled?!

The next morning Cameron helped pass out presents. He loved his little blow up car from Santa. It is lots of fun when playing Mario Kart Wii!

This is his Wipeout Wii game - a favorite!

After opening presents we had some breakfast. Cameron insists on eating on Melia's tray. It won't be long and this won't happen anymore.

Then he helped everyone open stockings.

Cameron and Daddy got silly string in their stockings! From the picture below you can see it looked like a bomb went off in here after opening presents...then spraying the whole house! Cameron had a hard time working the can so I had to do it for him. Halfway through he tried to hide and cried "please don't spray me...you know I don't like to be messy". That's my boy! Haha. After the cans were empty he was back into it because he could just throw what was on the ground.

He got a rocket ship for his room that he can color on and play in. This is him showing Melia around inside.

Later that night we went bowling at Red Rock Casino with a group of friends. All the kids had a great time bowling! All in all I'd say it was a pretty great Christmas!

Then for New Years we had dinner with Micheal, Monica & Ava. It was our first time going for teppanyaki. Cameron loved watching them cook in front of us...all the tricks and fire! We had a great time. He attempted to stay up late. He and I played Super Mario Brothers Wii. He loves to watch us play it and at times will try it himself. He tried so hard to make it to midnight to watch the fireworks, but at 10:45 he was so tired he could barely keep his eyes open. We recorded the fireworks for him. We were able to see them from our new place. You can see the strip...it's a ways off, but we could zoom in and get a pretty good video.



Play Dates

We had a couple of play dates with his friends during December. The first was a parents night out at my house. We were supposed to have a total of 8 kids...ended up with just 5. It was still chaos though! They had a lot of fun! We made ice cream sundays.

At about 8 PM all hell broke loose. Haha! We had 2 tired babies that were crying. I was upstairs dealing with them while downstairs (in about a 30 second window) Cameron was hitting, Jacob fell down and was crying...Cameron was in timeout. Serafina was the innocent bystander. If you know this group of kids this entire scenario is just really backwards!!!

Regardless, I think they all had a good time. There was only one still going (Serafina) at midnight when her parents arrived (sorry Bella!).

Then we went to Shark Reef. Santa was there so the kids took a picture together with Santa. Cameron told Santa he wanted a new reindeer. He actually at one point told me he wanted 2 new reindeer...one for me and one for Daddy since Melia already had one...we could all have one. Well when it came down to it, Santa brought 2 new reindeer and they both were Cameron's. LOL!

Christmas Pictures

We attempted to take some pictures for our Christmas cards. Cameron was really excited and way into it...until about halfway through. He took the last photo with Melia and said "ok I'm done". With that he walked away. Haha. Melia did better than he did.

I was annoyed and didn't really get what I wanted, but I took the approach of let's just go with it. Whatever we have, we have. They will be cute even if the kids look miserable because that is what the experience was.

After the fact I have to say they didn't turn out so bad.
