Officially 8 Months Old!

This weekend Cameron cut two new teeth. So far they are only coming in twos, and we have continued to be lucky and he does not show any signs of teething! He now has 4 teeth on top and 2 on the bottom. He's turning into a really good eater. We have stopped using baby food and have just started feeding him whatever we are eating. The only thing he hasn't quite figured out yet is that he needs to swallow what he has in his mouth (or stop choking on the food he has shoved in) before he puts more in.

We've been doing LOTS of tummy time and trying to get Cameron to start crawling. The last few days he has figured out how to get up on his hands & knees and start rocking. That's about the extent of it. Won't be long I'm sure. He's also started bouncing ALL THE TIME! Anytime he is sitting up he is trying to bounce.

Last night we pulled out his Joe Dirt wig...fits him better now. He actually left it on for quite a while. Then today we got his pool out and spent some time in the sunshine. We bought him a swim shirt to protect his skin from the sun...he's a little surfer boy now! Since he's able to sit up on his own now he likes his pool a lot more. There were a few face dives today, but they don't seem to phase him one bit.

David & Cameron leave for Texas on Thursday...so stay tuned for the next blog when they return.

The Fauxhawk...

We were playing with Cameron's hair and spiked it up good. I don't think Azriel liked it because he was rather unfriendly tonight...or maybe he just didn't want to take the abuse. They made up quickly though and the cat was right back there at his side while Cameron was playing with his toys (not him).

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

This was a big weekend for Cameron. He shared his first kiss with his girlfriend Serafina at Karina's first birthday part on Saturday!! We were so bummed we didn't get a picture.

Azriel and Cameron are buddies and played together. The poor cat has learned to take a lot of abuse. I'm surprised he still has a tail, whiskers & ears...or any fur left at all. For some reason though he approaches Cameron and lays right down to take it all.

Cameron and I have a little game we like to play to pass the time. He gets a kick out of it. This video is a long one!

Cameron hasn't figured out the crawling thing yet. He can only get one half up at a time...the knees go up and he smooshes his face into the bed and slides, or he gets his arms up and will slowly spin himself around in a circle. We keep trying though. Lately, his mode of transportation is rolling like a maniac across our bed. Gone are the days when we could put him there and walk away. I couldn't get the crazy rolling this time, but I did get his "wild man dance".
Caroline is letting us borrow Jacob's walker. We got it this weekend and let Cameron try it out. He loves the toys, but definitely confused the walker with his jumperoo since he kept trying to jump. Once he figures out how to make it move...watch out Max & Ariel!

Lollipops & Bath Time

We gave Cameron a grape sucker tonight. He LOVED it! Of course we made the mistake of letting him sit on the couch. He was drooling so bad it was running down his elbows and all over the couch. I thought I was going to just be able to wash him off when we were done, but he ended up being so sticky we had to throw him in the tub. I'm not sure if it was the sugar or if he was just really delirious tonight, but he was so wound up in the tub. He was screeching at the top of his lungs and laughing hysterically. He is so funny! Then we had to censor out the video because David got too much...we had to make it "blog friendly".

Mother's Day Weekend in PA.

I decided to make a trip back to PA for Mother's Day weekend...mostly because my cousin Stephanie was getting married and Nana was coming back for it. I wanted to make sure she got the chance to meet Cameron. It was a whirl wind of a trip. Completely exhausting!

We got in at 11 PM so we could take a direct flight. Less time in the air with a baby equals less opportunity for them to cry. He did pretty well on the flight there. Slept for about an hour and was pretty antsy for the remaining 3, but we made it with few issues. After the long drive back to Oil City we were all pretty tired. It ended up being 3 Am before we got to bed, which seemed to be fine with Cameron because stayed on Vegas time.

Saturday we had Stephanie's wedding so we got to spend the day with the Repasky's. Lots of family came up...people I haven't seen in years and most Cameron has never met. Since his schedule was pretty off, he had not had a nap before the wedding. Of course, just as the ceremony starts he reaches his breaking point and started crying. Luckily he was so tired at that point it didn't last but a minute and he was asleep. He lasted a little while at the reception...then we took the kids over to mom's so we could all go out that night.

There was a big sleep over that night as Donny, Lynn, and the girls came down to stay with us. This is the first time the kids were all together. Cameron was completely taken with the girls. They had so much fun! Over the weekend Ava & Cameron shared binkies, bottles, and toys. Hit & grabbed at each other. Giggled and screamed with each other. Ava walked all over him...there were kisses & hugs. So cute!

Sunday was another crazy day (again less than 6 hours of sleep). We got up in the morning and went to a picture appointment to get photos of the kids together. Then we were headed up to Dad's for Nana's birthday party...she turned the big 89! Following the party we headed down to Grandma Anne's to spend some time with the Holquist's. Then tried packing later that night for the return trip home. Got a couple of videos (below) of Cameron in the middle of the mess distracting us and playing with Grandma Beth.

Monday was our last day in town. We headed up to Titusville to see everyone one last time. Then made the long trip to Pittsburgh for our flight. I was dreading the 4.5 hours in the plane, and realized I had good reason to. Poor Cameron was so exhausted from the trip...being passed around, on the go, and trapped in a car seat...for so long that he had a major meltdown on the plane! He cried and screamed uncontrollably for over 40 minutes. Finally exhausted himself and fell asleep for an hour. Woke up and whined/cried...slept 30 minutes...and ended the trip with lots of whining! There was nothing I could do to console him. He just felt absolutely miserable. Needless to say he slept really well last night when we got home...and today to recover! Now he's back to normal.

Lots of pictures from the trip:

David especially loved this one (Cameron loved the baby):

They climbed on the bear at Papa's house during Nana's birthday.

With Grandma Anne:

Lynn & I with Lisa's kids...and our kids.

Talking to Grandma Barb:

Then we were able to take 5 Generation pictures while at dad's. Nana, Grandma Barb, Dad, Me & Cameron...then one with Lynn, Olivia & Ava.

Cameron got to meet old Eli (17 years old). He took the abuse surprisingly well.

Cameron pressing his face to the glass of the French Door to look at Ava. I wish I had been able to get this as a side shot...it was so funny the two of them looking at each other!

Then a couple of videos in the mess we had going while we were trying to pack.

We're Back!!

Our camera broke shortly after the last post...but we just got our new one so we're back in business. Had to play with it tonight and figure it out before our trip to PA.

Cameron is now sitting up on his own. It used to be he could only do that on a soft surface (on the bed or couch). Now he's got his balance enough to sit on his own on the floor. Next comes crawling. Right now he can only pull his legs up under him if he's laying on the bed...then he scoots with his face down. A couple of times we've lifted him up onto his arms and he can stay up in position for a few seconds, but he just doesn't know what to do yet.

We are also working on cutting two new teeth (top). He's still the best teether ever! No signs that he's even cutting teeth and suddenly there they are. Plus he's done them two at a time so far...so I consider us very lucky! He's still a good eater. He has figured out how to pick up cereal with his finger & thumb and actually get it in his mouth. We need to find some new foods for him to try so we can get him closer to table food.

We started off so happy...

AND THEN... (I love this picture)

This is a long one, but he's so funny. He loves looking at the baby in the mirror in the bottom of the cup. Sometimes you can even get him talking into the cup with his face pressed against it.

More to come. We leave Friday for PA.

My first day at the pool...

Cameron got a pool and some swimming trunks from Grandma Beth for Easter. Today it hit 80 degrees so it was finally warm enough to pull them out. It took a while to get him to sit down and he wasn't so sure about the whole thing. As he gets a little bigger, can sit up completely on his own, and has some toys to play with I'm sure he will like it a lot better.
