Happy Halloween

I'm really late posting our Halloween pictures. This year was almost a disaster. We tried to take Cameron to Bonnie Springs...it's old Nevada. They were supposed to have a kids area this year. The website looked great - train ride, pumpkin patch, pony rides, petting zoo. Let's just say the best part of it was the ride home. We basically paid to go to a petting zoo you couldn't pet...or see. It smelled horrible. There was no pumpkin patch. Actually, there were no lights! It's was dark and there was NOTHING there.

I felt so bad that I decided I had to take Cameron back to the pumpkin patch we took him to last year. It was small and in a parking lot, but apparently that's the best option in Vegas. Cameron had a blast!! He was so excited about picking out a pumpkin. There was also a small petting zoo. He really did't want to pet anything...he just kept bending over to talk to the goats.



We carved the pumpkin that same night. He was right in there to help scoop it out. However, he didn't want to touch the pumpkin guts. He would only use the spoon. When it came time to carve the pumpkin he sat in my lap so he could watch the entire process. When we light a candle inside, he sang happy birthday to it! He now associates candles with singing happy birthday.

We had a Halloween party with the kids. They all put on their costumes and had a great time. They got to hunt for pumpkin lollipops...Cameron loved it and found the most. We also let them decorate cupcakes. It was such a hit (thanks Monica for the great ideas).

On Halloween we took the kids to the District at Green Valley Ranch to trick or treat. Again, Cameron was so excited. It was all he could talk about. He loves his "punkin" and did good carrying it around the entire time. He was even walking up to trick or treat all by himself.

As you can see from the mess he's laying in...he is loving this Halloween stuff. He made him self comfortable on the floor with a box of Nerds...you can see them all over the floor all around him. What a mess!

Overall, Halloween was a success! I'm sure Christmas will be just as much fun. We were into Target and they already had Christmas trees out...he ran up to them all excited asking what it was. Let the fun begin.

Age 2

Had Cameron to his 2 year appointment recently. He's growing like a bad weed! Already 28 pounds 11 oz and 33.5 inches tall! Still right at 50th percentile across the board...even though everyone thinks he's so huge.


I'm a little sad to be cleaning out his closet again to make room for the next size! We're buying him 2T...no longer clothes in "months". Definitely another sign he's not a baby. Actually, I think this is the first time I've actually had to buy him clothes (aside from PJ's). Up to this point I've had stuff in the closet that other people bought him. Probably another sign he's a big boy...it's only fun to buy baby clothes. :-)



We are regressing a bit with sleeping. We had a couple weeks where he was getting up multiple times during the night and coming into our room. I think he was hoping we'd just let him sleep with us. Always between 1-4 AM. No idea why. I'm sure he just woke up and instead of putting himself back to sleep as usual...he was really loving his independence in the big boy bed and would come visit us. Although he was consistently telling me those nights at bed time "No big boy bed"..."No like my big boy bed". I let him make a bed on the floor a couple of nights hoping that would help. The last 2-3 night's he's back to sleeping all night. I hope it sticks!

For those of you that know Cameron...you know he loves to dance. Adding some new videos of him dancing to some ringtones.






Then just a few pics. He is finally wearing his chef outfit. You can see from the photos he was stealing kitchen utensils from our drawer to stick in his front pockets. Yes, he is tall enough to see in the drawers now!





Last video is something that occupies most of his time these days. He sets all of his food items or all of his dishes out on his table. Then proceeds to eat each one.

Cameron's 2nd Birthday!

Cameron turned 2 on September 30th! We celebrated his birthday on October 2nd. Grandma Beth flew out to be here. Some of Cameron's friends came out to play as well...Jacob, Karina, Isabella, Alexander, and Ava (not his cousin). They jumped in the bounce house and played with toys.





We got a Nemo cake - Cameron is a big fan of Finding Nemo.



He loved having everyone sign Happy Birthday to him...even did a good job blowing out the candles.

Cameron ripped off Nemo's fin and started eating it. The inside was cake. Grandma Beth cut his nose off to make him easier to eat. Cameron was a little traumatized that Nemo's nose was gone...but he soon joined in the fun and was asking me to cut off his eye so he could eat it.

Opening presents started off good. Cameron opened one...then quickly lost interest.

The rest of the time he played at his new mud pie maker/kitchen (from Aunt Lynn). He was completely oblivious to the rest of the gifts. Isabella happily stepped in to finish the job though. The other kids seemed more interesed than Cameron.

After the party Cameron was hungry and is now eating most of his meals at his new table from Grandma Beth.

Once everyone left he was far more interested in his gifts! He enjoyed force feeding Grandma some of his fake ice cream (literally prying her mouth open). Also feeding his horse a carrot.

He also loved the balloons & party favors. Overall, it was a hit!
