We were watching the movie Rise of the Guardians. There are a few fight like sequences toward the end of the movie. Cameron was so into it he couldn't sit down. He stands in front of the tv and jumps around.
We've had some days that are warm enough to swim...though the water is still pretty cold. Cameron told me, "Mom, did you know that I am Melia's super hero?" She was walking around the pool and he said he was shielding her from falling in. Such a good big brother.
We are seeing the impact of marketing on kids! Cameron has turned into a commercial regurgitator. One morning I even came in to see him watching an infomercial about a food blender. He then proceeded to tell me all about how we needed to buy it because it would help him eat healthier because he could make "super food smoothies". He remembers exactly what they say...even weeks later! I wish I could get a video of him coming in to tell me about something he saw.
- Wet N Wild water park - They call their kids area Blast Away Beach. The commercial came on and before it even got to that part, Cameron says (very matter of factly) "Mom, at Blast Away Beach, everyone's a kid!".
- Stompeez - These are As Seen on TV kids slippers. When you walk in them, the ears pop up. He will tell you all about how "Stompeez come to life".
Then another TV related story. He apparently turned on the weather channel instead of cartoons (I say this is his former babysitters influence...they loved the weather channel together). He came in one morning to announce there was a big storm over Mississippi (like he knew where that was). He then asked if we thought it was possible there could be a tornado in there. He said there was a tornado somewhere yesterday at a school and a kid died. He was so excited to share.
He loves anything related to learning. One night at dinner he entertained us by saying he was going to count to 100. He did it! Only hesitated one time at 90 (guessed 9). Then continued on to 109! Now he has even started teaching Melia. This video was really funny. He gets so frustrated because she isn't listening to him and doing exactly as wants that he tries to remove the game that is distracting her.
Not a day goes by Mario Checkers isn't out. He will even play against himself. He's gotten pretty good. Except that he will deliberately ignore places he can jump you to keep the game going longer.
Our first trip to Hollywood Studios. Cameron wore his superman cape shirt. Everyone always comments on his shirt. He usually tries to ignore them...it doesn't take long and he is over the attention. While there, we had to take a picture with the actual superman cape from the movie...and of course in front of a phone booth (bribery required). He was not thrilled. Their favorite part of the day was riding the new Toy Story ride and seeing the Disney Junior show.
We found the splash park at downtown Winter Garden! I wasn't sure how he would do with his aversion to water in his eyes. They both loved it! He was even running right through the water. Then as he needed to wipe his eyes, he wanted his towel so he would walk to me with his arms out and eyes closed saying "mom" like he was playing Marco Polo.
Random pictures taken during the month. Some from home, the park (they spend a lot of time during the day at the park), and the Disney splash park.
